Why is my hedgehog house not being used? ☹

Our research with the University of Reading – the Hedgehog Housing Census – told us that although DIY hedgehog houses appear to be favoured by hedgehogs, artificial hedgehog houses are still population with some ‘hogs.

What we do know is that it can take time for hedgehogs to get used a new hedgehog house, and whether a hedgehog moves in can depend on the location of the house, and whether food or bedding has been provided.
