Scientific name: Mesechinus wangi
Found in: China.
Notes: Found only on the slopes of Mount Gaoligong.

Small-toothed forest hedgehog

Scientific name: Mesechinus miodon
Found in: China.
Notes: Newly described.

Eastern forest hedgehog

Scientific name: Mesechinus orientalis
Found in: Eastern China.
Notes: Newly described in 2023.
