Spread the word about hedgehogs – tell friends about Hedgehog Street and share our tips on social media.
Summer is a critical time for hedgehogs, as breeding takes place and females raise their vulnerable hoglets. Now is therefore the perfect time for us all to let people know about the plight of our native hedgehogs, and how they can help.
As we know, hedgehogs are a beloved species but sadly are in decline in the UK. There are plenty of ways to help hedgehogs and it’s vital that we get as many people involved as possible. To do this, we need help from you, our dedicated Hedgehog Champions! This summer when you’re chatting to your friends, family and neighbours, why not let them know about Hedgehog Street?
Mentioning Hedgehog Street and what you’ve been doing to help hedgehogs will raise awareness and inspire others to do the same. Whether it’s supplementary feeding, a ‘hog highway or even just checking carefully before gardening, let people know!
Social media is a fantastic way to get involved, especially in these restricted times when community engagement isn’t always possible. Sharing a hedgehog post from the BHPS or PTES social media accounts will help us to reach as many people as possible. Sharing your own hoggy pictures and tagging #HedgehogStreet will also raise awareness.
