What animal licks the dishes clean?
-
Putting out my normal 3 dishes of wet dog food and 3 dishes of hoggie biscuits as usual.
After a couple of days/nights of heavy rain nearly all the food was left uneaten, which makes me think lots of natural food was easier to find due to wet weather.
Then the regulars (4 hedgehogs) reappeared and were feasting again – but I’ve noticed in the morning the dishes were absolutely clean. The hogs usually leave some crumbs of the biscuits or some jelly on the wet food, but dishes seemed licked clean.
I doubt it is cats, might it be foxes? Doesn’t seem like rats as they don’t clean dishes, or do they?
Hi daffydill
I’m not sure about rats or foxes, but cats lick hog bowls clean.
Hi Nic
My first thought too Nic, but I hadn’t realised cats would clear the biscuit dishes. ? I know the blackbirds seem to enjoy hoggie biscuits and take any leftovers but always leave bits of crumbs. Only been happening recently, thanks for replying.
