Hi, I have a visiting hedgehog, and tonight I decided to weigh him, quickly, due to hibernation coming soon, he is a lovely weight, just over 800g, but now I’m worried he may not come back because I might have scared him…?

    Hi Kelse

I wouldn’t worry too much. I suspect that hedgehogs live more in the moment than we do, so he might forget fairly quickly. It’s possible, of course, that he is about to hibernate, so even if he doesn’t turn up as usual, it may be because of that. But, I would continue to leave his food as usual.

Water is best left available all day every day.

Fab! Thank you so much, I’ve put the camera out as well and will do for next few days along with food and water, just to keep an eye.
