Before this another passed in the same direction. I guess that the female has just left them. I put the wet catfood around the water bowl, and they noticed the water without drinking. Strange in this extremely dry swedish summer. It seems like fewer hedgehogs now, but I’m happy that fairly many survive the drought.
I know two places where they get food and water within 20 metres so they might have a fair chance. There hasn’t been a a decent rain with worms on the ground since maybe april or may.
I have three hoglets in my garden too. They are a bit bigger than in your video but delightful to watch. I have provided commercial hedgehog food and water and they return every night and argue as to how many can sit in the food bowl. What a priviledge.
I totally agree! 🙂
Today when watering with a hose carried a hog away 10 metres to a feeding place before watering. Later I served one water and food and about 10 children came. It is difficult to get children calm around hedgehogs.

I find it strange that they will usually put feeding as tot priority and drinking as second. This one drank only after feeding a lot and then drank for a long time. I usually put the food around the water bowl to make it easy to find.
Since I live in a rented apartment I feed the hedgehogs where i notice them. When i see one i quickly go and get food and water and hope to find it again.
