    Slugs.
I have a large hedgehog that visits my back garden. He heads for the slugs that appear nightly to feed on the suet balls crumbs out of a bird feeder. The slugs love the crumbs and the hedgehog loves the slugs.

Our hedgehog seems to avoid the slugs and go for the hedgehog kibble we leave out and water.

Hedgehogs do vary a bit in their preferences, but if they do eat slugs they tend to go for the small or medium ones. The really big ones who often congregate around food are a bit big for their little mouths! But you are lucky if the hogs eat the smaller ones which apparently do most damage to plants!

Well done re. the water – very important all day every day even if you aren’t sure whether there are any hogs around or not.

Good luck, both and happy hog watching!
