I have had a hedgehog house for a week and delighted to already have a visitor, so all good so far.
My question is around garden lights. We have one of those light sensors, so a bit of movement and there is a lot of light. I was wondering does this cause a problem for hedgehogs ie will it scare them or is it fine to leave on?

    Hi Indy

Brilliant news that you have a visitor to your hog house.

It varies a a bit from one hog to another. I leave an outdoor light on here for them for a few hours (on all that time) and they don’t mind that at all. But, some hogs aren’t keen on lights which go on and off, whilst others apparently don’t seem to mind. If you find they are nervous of it, can you set it to stay on for longer and then set to sensor later on in the night, perhaps?

Although presumably if a hog has been visiting despite the lights, it seems that one doesn’t mind.

Ok cheers, I will have a look to see if there are any settings I can change.
