    Morning,
We have had some really torrential rain (not flooding) but persistent heavy down pours in the last couple of weeks and it seems to match with all my local hogs all going ‘missing.’ I’d ordinarily have 3 or 4 visitors to the garden but none have been.
I always place their food in the same purpose build feeding station, which is under cover to prevent food getting wet or cats eating it and it hasn’t been touched for days.
Despite the rain its also been un-seasonally warm for the time of year so I’m questioning hibernation?
I do hope they’ve survived the persistent rain – how do hogs cope in such awful mixed up weather?

    Hi NiamhsNan

I suspect some of the hogs are finding the ‘strange’ weather a bit confusing! But hibernation isn’t solely linked to temperature, so it’s quite possible the hogs have gone to hibernate. Hogs do tend to go in and out of hibernation a bit, even in ‘normal’ weather, so some people always leave a certain amount of food available, in case. It’s important to always leave water available all day every day, including during winter, in case a thirsty hog should happen along.

Hopefully the hogs will be back after hibernation, if not before then.

    Good luck.
