My hedgehog has been crying out in pain for a week, but just yesterday blood started coming out from its urinary tract. It refuses to eat, and when medication, water, or food is administered via syringe, it vomits after 30 minutes, with green fluid in the vomit. Does anyone know the reason? My hedgehog looks very miserable and weak 😢.

Hi, Sorry no-one has replied sooner. Sorry to hear about your hedgehog – it must be very distressing for it and you.

I’m guessing from what you say that you are talking about a pet african pygmy hedgehog, but please correct me if I’m wrong. If I’m right then this site is about wild European hedgehogs, which might be why no-one replied sooner. Regardless of that, it sounds as if the hedgehog needs help from a vet. Although you talk about medication being administered, so maybe you have already taken your hedgehog to a vet?

I hope you manage/d to get help for the hedgehog and things have improved. Good luck.
