Hi Godiva57
It could have been a female hog having a pee, but it isn’t all that easy to tell when either male or female are peeing.
The easiest way to tell male from female by looking at them on video is if you can see underneath. If they have fifth ‘appendages’ roughly mid abdomen, then they are males. It is often visible underneath the male hog as he moves along – but also they sometimes conveniently scratch in front of the camera.
Otherwise you can usually work it out by their behaviour, if you ever get more than one hog visitng at a time. A male will usually not tolerate other males and may either roll up another male, or at least biff him. He will likely circle a female and she will turn round so that her head faces towards him, huffing as she goes.
Good luck – hope you manage to work out who is which. Happy hog watching!
