Last night we were visited by 2 hedgehogs and they seemed to be conducting the standard mating ritual but it seems very late in the season, or is this normal for a late brood?

My sister sent me a trailcam video clip filmed in her garden this week of two hogs courting (and mating).

    Hi kmadderson and Mags63

If there are both male and female hogs around, they will mate – even much later than this. There is still plenty of time for hoglets conceived now to grow enough to be able to survive hibernation.

I hope all goes well with any hoglets which might materialise.

I was wondering about this as well because there is a particularly amorous hog in the garden, who is after the ladies again. Lots of huffing and chuffing going on. He seems pretty determined too!
