This week last year was my first sighting. I’ve put dry food and water out all winter in case. No sightings just well fed cats. Last night the biscuits in my newly made feeding station had been disturbed (thanks for those blueprints Penny) so I put some wet food out. Had a nosy round the pond and wayhay the newts are back in town!

This morning the food was gone but still no sightings. My weekend task get my camera back up.

    Hi Nina,

Glad you’ve got some newts in your pond and it certainly sounds like the hogs are back. How are the bats, my bat box is still just an ornament hanging around in the kitchen waiting for someone brave enough to put it up in the tree?

Fingers crossed bats are snuggled up in their box we’ve had them every year for the last 4 years. We live in a bungalow so it’s not that high on a south facing wall.

We do have livestock fields not too far away with sheep and horses, when we went on a bat seminar yes they do do those – wildlife trusts, they said the animals would encourage the bats.
