I bought a commercial feeding station from The Hutch Company (timber with roofing felt covered lid). Lucky enough to be given a wildlife camera for my birthday. This, however, revealed the hole to be far too big (12cm x 14cm) – great footage of two neighbouring cats entering and exiting licking their greedy chops!
I adapted the access hole by bunging a pvc soil pipe “elbow” into the hole and wedging it tight. Until now that has sufficed but last night’s footage showed a cat gaining entry (with much persistence it has to be said). I think this cat is pretty much homeless; I’ve seen it around and it doesn’t look particularly well cared for – its coat is dull, so I’m guessing it’s pretty hungry and it won’t be easily deterred.
The pvc pipe is 11cm in diameter. My question is how small can I make the hole before it’s too small for my hedgehog visitors?
Also, how do I uplaod/attach a photo?
Thanks!
