    Hello all,

My wife and I have been getting a few hedgehogs in our garden over the last 3-4 months and we have loved it. We installed a hedgehog house, we fed them every night and we even installed new security cameras so we can watch them! However, as hedgehogs do, we think they have wound down now for winter. Parsley, our regular hedgehog, has blocked the door on the house and settled in.

This is the first year we’ve seen them and they have become such a huge part of our lives. We’re kind of twiddling our thumbs until they show up again.

What kind of things do you all do in the downtime until next hedgehog season (apart from making sure they are still fed etc.)?

At this time of year most rescues are extremely busy with hedgehogs. If you really want to stay in touch with hogs it may be worth finding out where your nearest rescues are and offering any help. This could be mucking out to give the place a chance for a break ( hogs are truly the most filthy creatures ) or helping to overwinter if you have space for a hutch.
