first sighting of the year
-
it was mildish last night and got my first sighting of the year – so wet food out tonight
Hi stedwomas
Good to hear there is a hog back there. Hope it is still o.k. It’s so lovely when they all start returning.
(you might get a reply twice, in which case apologies. My last one disappeared!)
After more than 2 weeks the hedgehog returned last night. I have not left any wet food out for a week because it goes off. On 1st march around 8pm i opened the hedgehog house feeding station and saw a tiny mouse whose body was a little over an inch long. It was near zero deg. how it survives i don’t know. In the morning saw the food was scattered more than the mouse would be capable of. I did not put we food out because the disturbance may have been caused by a rat. I put my cameras out for the 2/3 march and had 3 hedgehog visits -even though the temperature got to -2C , so wet food out tonight. I have two videos from last night

as you can see the hedgehog was grateful for a drink after the feed
