Arts and Crafts for Hedgehog Awareness

Following the Bake-Off we held for our 10th birthday, we are hosting a Hedgehog Street Arts and Crafts Competition to flood social media with hedgehog imagery. All arts and crafts are welcome: paintings, illustrations, collages, sculptures, papier-mâché, sewing creations, and more!

We encourage applications from all age groups and art backgrounds.

Theme

We’re using this year’s Hedgehog Awareness Week theme – Give Hedgehogs The Edge, asking people to make the edges of gardens and green spaces havens for hedgehogs.

We are calling on you to make arts and crafts that draw on this theme by showing creative ways how we can make our gardens and green spaces more hedgehog friendly.

This can include helpful features, like log piles and wildlife ponds.

If you need inspiration on hedgehog-friendly gardens, see our blog post on Hedgehog Friendly Garden Features and our series on Wildlife Gardening.

How to enter

Fill out our submission form to enter the competition! Entries close on 27 April.

Winners

Competition winners for various categories will be announced during Hedgehog Awareness Week (4 – 10 May 2025). Winners will be decided by PTES and BHPS staff and a notable judge (watch this space…). Winners will receive hedgehog-themed goodies!
