I’ve rescued two young hedgehogs as they were visiting my feeding station and they were too small (around 300g) to hibernate. I’m keeping them in a cool room and they’ve put on over 100g in a week. Once they’ve reached 650g is it safe to release them during a mild spell of weather? I don’t want to keep them any longer than is absolutely necessary.

    Hi Bernadette

There is some Hedgehog Street guidance in here: https://www.hedgehogstreet.org/guidance-on-releasing-rehabilitated-hedgehogs/
Including links if you want further info.

Glad to hear the little ones are putting on weight.

    Good luck.
