    Hi everyone!

I recently found an injured hedgehog in my garden & want to make sure I am giving it the best care possible. I am a first-time rescuer and could use some advice on handling; feeding; and any basic medical care tips.

Should I take it to a wildlife rehab center ; are there things I can do myself to help it recover?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you !

    Hi kevincalori

The hog really needs to go to a hog carer/rehabilitator. If it’s injured it probably needs more specialist treatment. You can find your nearest carer/rehabilitator by ringing 01584 890801 (I believe the number is covered by volunteers out of office hours).

If you are interested in helping hogs in that way in the future, your best bet may be to help out at a hog rehab centre to learn the ropes, to start with.

Good luck. Fingers crossed for the hedgehog.
