Everyday I see a small silvery hog come out for about half an hour .. he seems to hoover up food from under my birdfeeders… I also have three small babies at the moment, Im busy feeding them up… I hope they survive, maybe if its a mild winter they will feed all year? I had some a few years back that did that.

    Hi laurabiding

It isn’t normal for a hog to be out during the day – especially at this time of year when the nights are so long. It seems likely the little hog needs help. Bird food remains are not a good diet, either. If I were you I would contact your nearest carer/rehabilitator and take their advice. You can get contact details by ringing BHPS on 01584 890801.

    Good luck.
