Hi Janiceg

That’s great news! I am assuming you meant that the hog was an already local one, who discovered your hog friendly garden? That is the best way, as the hog will be familiar with all the good places in your area. Hogs need several gardens to forage in – however wildlife friendly, one garden is not enough.

Ideally rescue hogs should be returned to where they were found, or as near to it as possible because they will be familiar with that area and won’t have the stress of being released in a strange place.

Also if the hog is a local one, it is very likely there are other hogs in the area – the hoglets seemingly being proof of that! Hoglets are brilliant news – it’s always fun to watch their antics! You are lucky!

Hope they all do well. Good luck and happy hog watching.
