Hedgehog ecology and land management course – 25th May

Developed back in 2015 in partnership with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) and hedgehog experts including Dr Pat Morris & Dr Nigel Reeve, this course targets people involved in the management of public spaces or private amenity land. This includes consultants, landscape architects and developers.

Course content
Talk 1: Ecology and behaviour
An overview of basic biology, ecology, behaviour, disease and rehabilitation.
Talk 2: Population, monitoring and the law
An overview of recent trends in the UK hedgehog population, the hedgehog’s conservation status and the legislation surrounding them.
Talk 3: Threats and mitigation
An overview of threats to hedgehogs and discussion around potential solutions and barriers.
Cost: £30 per person
