Protection for Hedgehogs

Hi all you lovely hedgehog lovers, i was really enjoying doing the Hedgehogs after dark . We have had them come and go in the garden a few years now there absolutley lovely to watch every night, now have purchased a camera and every morning with a cup of coffee i watch the nights activity .What i was wondering why Hedgehogs are not got the same legal protection squirrels , bats, and watervoles . Would it be possible to start a petition to send to the goverment , i wouldn’t know how to start one but maybe someone at Hedgehog street would be able to help thanks Sue.
The author Hugh Warwick has had a petition going for a while now for more protection of hedgehogs. Has over half a million signatures, so all in hand. If you google his name you may find a link to the petition.
