Glad to hear you have your camera up and running. Also that you are going to get some food for the hogs. Bird food is mostly not good for them, even though they eat it. In particular mealworms are a definite no. They have an inbalance of calcium and phosphorous, which can lead to leaching of calcium from the bones leading to broken bones and, in hoglets, deformed growth. Sunflower hearts and peanuts also have an inbalance, which whilst not quite as bad, aren’t too good if hogs eat too many of them.
There are various types of hedgehog foods around these days. Alternatively you can feed cat/dog food or cat/kitten biscuuits. Water is also vitally important and best left available all day every day. Preferably in shallow but fairly large containers – hogs are very good at tipping them over! Large plant saucers are ideal.
If you find you get lots of blank images/video, this is a time of year when many hogs tend to rush around – especially the males, so they sometimes trigger the cameras but are out of sight by the time the cameras take the actual images!
