Well, not been on for a while and there’s been an explosion! The first post I have read before and is very informative, but it disappeared the last time it was on. I have to agree with Nic, it’s getting very confusing for readers as like the first post, you have to keep going back to it to check and re read. Would it not be simpler to have a food chart with Bad on one side and Good on the other, with an easy access button. Anything that is controversial, leave it out, as you will have selected enough good foods with cat/dog/hedgehog to make a good difference to Hedgehog health. As said previously, we all (or most) of us make the mealworm mistake. This has mainly been because we see hedgehogs eating under bird feeders where they have been picking up dropped mealworm, sunflower hearts, fat balls and peanut bits, which we have wrongly assumed they eat.
For those of you who have fed mealworm, yes, it’s a mistake, but don’t beat yourself up, Chang the food now. I stopped it completely. They will sulk and refuse food for a few days (mine take 3 days to try something new) but then they take the good food coming back for more. Best wishes.
