Hedgehog activities for schools
5th March 2019
People’s Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) have just launched an education pack for schools and teachers. From homes for hogs to bug banquets these resources will help students get to know the world of hedgehogs.
These free hedgehog themed activities are best used with primary aged children. They cover a variety of national curriculum subjects and programmes of study, and can be carried out come rain or shine.
They are designed to be used by teachers and other educators and leaders, with school classes, kids clubs, scout and guide groups etc., covering mainly science, but also art and design, design and technology, computing, maths, citizenship and PE. Each activity has multiple links to the current national curriculum for England listed in the leader’s notes.
“My son’s primary school had a ‘hedgehog day’ at a farm where we used some of the PTES educational resources. They said it was ‘the best trip ever’ and returned home to hassle their parents to make holes in their garden fences!” – Ursula
