Just wondering if ticks die and drop off the hedgehogs during hibernation or will they still be there in spring ?

They will drop off at some stage. But they may lay eggs and depending on the temperature, and other variables, the eggs may hatch out and the new young ticks may attach themselves to the hedgehog when it emerges from hibernation.
