Calling all hedghog lovers of London! Hedgefest 2018
26th October 2018
Nature lovers of London can now rejoice as the first ever celebration in honour of our urban hogs will be coming to Hackney this Autumn.
āHedgefestā will be taking place at the Sebright Arms PubĀ in Hackney onĀ November 17th – host to a number of activities, including live music, poetry readings and face painting amongst others.
The festival has been organised by our very own local Hedgehog Champion, Keenan, to help raise awareness of the decline in the population of European hedgehogs which is falling at a rate of around 5% each year!
“The situation is dire but we don’t have to see our prickled friends disappear…”
Armed with a menu of hedgehog-themed appetisers and cocktails, the organisers are hoping to educate others on the impact they still have, even in urban areas where it is often assumed hedgehogs are unlikely to roam. To find out more information, be sure head down to the festival in East LondonĀ November 17th and help show your support towards this dedicated campaign. With all proceeds going towards Hedgehog Street!
