An evening with Hedgehog Street: Urban conservation special
5th October 2022
**This event has now passed, but you can catch up on the recording HERE.**
For our next instalment of ‘An Evening with Hedgehog Street’, we’ll be exploring the world of urban hedgehog conservation. The recent State of Britain’s Hedgehogs 2022 report found that urban hedgehogs are faring better than their rural counterparts. What is underpinning this difference, and how can we continue to safeguard the future of urban and suburban populations? We’ll be hearing about Dr Abi Gazzard’s research focussed on urban conservation strategies.
The FREE event will be hosted on Zoom on Thursday 17th November 2022, from 7pm-8.30pm. You can register via the link below and we’ll send you joining instructions via email prior to the event.
We’re looking forward to seeing you there, but if you’ve got any questions drop us a line hedgehog@ptes.org
We’ll be joined by…
Dr Abi Gazzard, hedgehog researcher
Abi has recently finished her PhD on urban hedgehog conservation at the University of Reading, funded by PTES and BHPS. Her research topics have included hedgehog houses, habitat preferences, hibernation and hog highway use. Abi will be sharing her research findings and exploring how they can be used to influence conservation strategies.
Find out more about Abi and her research HERE.
Grace Johnson, Hedgehog Officer
Grace will be giving a Hedgehog Street round-up of the year, before introducing Abi’s research and it’s importance in the context of national conservation.
